Take a look at the previous naming ceremonies of our methanol-enabled vessels. From Ulsan to Rotterdam, each event marked an important milestone towards our decarbonisation journey.

Naming Ceremony of Adrian Mærsk

Our latest methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named at APM Terminals Maasvlakte II terminal in Rotterdam during a name giving ceremony on 27 March 2025. The vessel was christened by its godmother, Stephanie Pullings Hart, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Nestlé. Nestlé ships all of its Maersk ocean cargo using Maersk’s ECO Delivery Ocean product, which cuts greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by over 80% through alternative fuels.

Name Ceremony of Albert M?rsk

Our newest methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named at the port of Nhava Sheva's Jawaharlal Nehru in Mumbai, India during a name giving ceremony on 28 February 2025. The vessel was christened by Mrs Raksha Khadse, the Indian State Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. This ceremony is a reaffirmation of our shared vision towards sustainability and a commitment to a country that is shaping the future of global trade.

Name Ceremony of A.P. Møller

Our seventh newbuilt, methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named at the port of Singapore during a name giving ceremony on 28 November 2024. The vessel was christened by Ms. Chan Su-Shan, spouse of Mr. Dilhan Pillay, CEO of Temasek. This launch showcases our long-lasting partnership and support for Singapore's ambition to become a leading hub for new maritime fuels.

Name Ceremony of Angelica M?rsk

The sixth methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan during a naming ceremony on 9 October 2024. The vessel was named after Angelica M?rsk-M?ller (1872-1962) who was an older sister of Mr. A.P. M?ller, the founder of A.P. Moller - Maersk. This is the third Angelica M?rsk in the Maersk fleet. The first was a steamship acquired in 1913, and the second was a container vessel, which joined the fleet in 1998.

Angelica Mærsk is named after Angelica Mærsk-Møller (1872-1962) who was an older sister of Mr. A.P. Møller, the founder of A.P. Moller - Maersk.

Name Ceremony of Alexandra M?rsk

Our fifth methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named at the port of Felixstowe, UK during a name giving ceremony on 9 October 2024. The vessel was christened by Elaine Condon, Director of People & Culture at Primark. Their participation represents the close logistics and sustainability partnership between Maersk and Primark.

Alexandra Mærsk was christened by its godmother, Elaine Condon, Director of People & Culture at Primark during a naming ceremony held at the port of Felixstowe, UK.

Name Ceremony of Alette Mærsk

Our fourth methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named at the Port of Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California during a name giving ceremony on 27 August 2024. The vessel was christened by Chloe Kim, a Nike sponsored athlete. Nike is a valued customer who shares a deep commitment to decarbonizing global supply chains.

Naming ceremony of Alette Mærsk, proudly carries the name of Alette Mærsk Mc-Kinney Sørensen, great-granddaughter of A.P. Møller, founder of the A.P. Moller Group.

Alette Mærsk was christened by her godmother, Nike athlete, snowboarder, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim at the Port of Los Angeles.

This is the first time a vessel in our 120-year history has been named Alette Mærsk, making this moment even more special.

Name Ceremony of Antonia Mærsk

Our third methanol-enabled vessel to join our fleet was named Antonia M?rsk at Aarhus Havn in Aarhus, Denmark in a naming ceremony on 9 August 2024. The vessel was christened by its godmother Kirsten Andersen, the spouse of Vestas CEO Henrik Andersen. Vestas is a Danish-based producer of sustainable energy solutions.

Name ceremony of Astrid Mærsk

Our second methanol-enabled vessel to join our ocean fleet. Astrid M?rsk was named in a ceremony held on 4 April 2024 in Yokohama, Japan. It was christened by the vessel’s godmother, Mrs. Liza Uchida, spouse of Nissan Motor Company CEO Makato Uchida. Following the naming ceremony, the vessel continued to Shanghai, China to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Maersk in China.

Astrid M?rsk is named after Astrid Uggla, granddaughter of Anna Maersk-Mckinney Uggla, chair of A.P. M?ller Fonden.

The world’s first large methanol-enabled container vessel has been named "Ane Mærsk" at a ceremony in the shipyard of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) in Ulsan, South Korea.

The vessel is named after Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla, the Chair of the A.P. Moller Foundation and A.P. Moller Holding.
