What is Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) ?
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a biofuel used to power aircraft that has similar chemical properties to conventional jet fuel. SAF is also called as drop-in fuel since no technological changes are required in an aircraft. SAF can be produced from a variety of feedstocks. These include forestry and agricultural waste and used cooking oil?. Depending on the feedstock and technologies used to produce it, SAF can reduce life cycle GHG emissions significantly compared to conventional jet fuel.
