How does project logistics differ from everyday logistics?
Project logistics is very different from everyday logistics, which typically moves goods in a continuous flow. Instead, project logistics supports large, complex undertakings such as wind farms, factories, or infrastructure. Each project can take years to plan and execute and has clear start and end dates.
Rather than focusing on transport from A to B, project logistics begins with the desired outcome – like a functioning power plant or factory – and works backwards to plan every step. Supply chains are time-definite and convergent, meaning they draw cargo from many global origins into a single project site.
